Laurie's background in trick riding began with a week spent in MO learning the basics.  Later on, she completed a college internship, in the Mid-West, trick riding, in addition to ostrich riding, with three other girls, prior to graduating with a B.S. in Recreation: Outdoor Management, from Lock Haven University.

Having spent several stints in Florida trick riding, she hired on with Arabian Nights for a  road show involved with the Black Stallion Literacy Program (see "Arkansas Democrat Gazette Article"). Laurie has traveled all over the US and Canada to perform.   

In addition to western trick riding, Laurie has an act starring her  Percheron, Pucchini, and the old tradition and art of rosinback riding.

Additionally, Laurie gives trick riding lessons and seminars.  

Steve and Shay, husband and son respectively, are an efficient props and ground crew, as well as extremely helpful with the ongoing horse training and practices.  Additionally, Shay has started training in rosinback on his pony.  And the newest family member, Baby Alayna is just along for the ride.

Another team member is Jo Thompson Pennypacker, an artist by trade.  Jo has logged many hours running horses during practices.
